Stephanie Mingos shot a 79 (38-41) in the final round of the 2009 NCAA National Championship to tie for 12th out of 111 players.  She played the back nine first and her final round included birdies on #12 and #17.   In the 2008 NCAA tournament Stephanie placed 5th and was the top freshman in the field. 

"Stephanie has set the bar very high for herself, so she's disappointed with her 12th place finish.  When Stephanie was recruited to Rhodes, we knew she could be a good player,  but we didn't anticipate her being one of the top players in the country as a freshman and sophomore," said Coach Clary. 

"Stephanie has been battling a couple of swing flaws all spring, which has made hitting fairways and greens a real challenge at times," said Coach Clary.  "Steph's chipping and putting have been outstanding, and she's such a competitor, she's played pretty good golf even though her swing has been a little shaky. Steph will get her swing straightened out this summer with her coach in Kansas City.  I have no doubt you'll see Stephanie at or near the top of the leaderboard in the 2010 NCAA tournament."
